Santa Caterina Valfurva in the province of Sondrio Alta Valtellina, is both a summer and winter tourist area located at an altitude of 1,738 mts. above sea level. The area offers 45 km. of ski slopes and 15 km. of cross-country ski tracks.

Thecross-country ski track unwinds among the thick coniferous woodland through fairytale countryside with itineraries which are both for tourists and competitive skiers. The lift facilities reach an altitude of 2,900 mts. with ski slopes which are always perfectly covered in snow also thanks to the modern programmed artificial snow system.

Santa Caterina is famous for the numerous World Cup Ski Races, both for Alpine Skiing and Cross-Country Skiing which have been hosted in recent years, and it has also been host to the recent World Alpine Ski Championships in 2005.

Just a few kilometres from Santa Caterina: Bormio Thermal Spas, i Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi Thermal Spas, for those who wish to relax and enjoy restful moments of wellbeing not only physically but also mentally.
